Tesla: Man of the 20th Century

Nikola Tesla was a brilliant inventor who did many amazing things in his life that were way ahead of his time. He was a genius man fond of numbers divisible by three, and he liked to brag about his inventions. The FBI had a  lengthy file about him and his inventions. It was rather paradoxical that he feared germs.

Tesla was born in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia.  He sailed to the USA in 1884 and worked for Thomas Edison. After he got cheated by Edison who stole his inventions, Tesla quit and became a day labourer. But in 1888 he hit the jackpot of 1M USD when George Westinghouse, a competitor of Edison hired him.

Some of Tesla’s inventions would later shock the world because they were destructful for mankind. Many are still not publicly known today. As soon as he died, the FBI scooped into to his hotel room and emptied every single cabinet in the suite. That’s how dangerous his inventions were if they fell into the wrong hands.

His top three inventions were the Death Ray, Tesla Coil, and his Powerhouse. The Death Ray had the ability to destroy 10,000 planes at once. Various agencies funded the death ray project and have constructed a working system based on Tesla’s blueprints. The Tesla Coil could send electricity up to 135 feet in the air. And his Powerhouse could give electricity to millions of home and other buildings.

Tesla, the wizard of electricity had a life full of ups and down but he left a lasting legacy for mankind and improved their lives for ever. The world last saw Tesla in 1943 on the steps of New York City public library feeding the pigeons.

He inspires me in three ways; he is the person behind my motto, “ Sky’s the limit”, take on challenges and do my best no matter what, and always be brave. Nikola Tesla was an amazing man!
